About Us
Welcome to the North Captiva Conservation and Beautification Foundation Inc., fondly recognized as North Captiva Conservation. We are an IRS-designated 501(c)3 organization, a proud Florida Not For Profit Corporation, with a Florida Registered Charity number of CH66672.

Our inception in the Fall of 2021 sprouted from a profound commitment to preserving the stunning natural resources gracing North Captiva Island. We are passionate advocates for the protection and preservation of our beloved island's unique biodiversity.

At North Captiva Conservation, we strive to illuminate the urgency to residents, property owners, and visitors about the human impact on our delicate barrier island. Our mission is geared toward promoting land and wildlife conservation efforts, inspiring individuals to care for the environment and live sustainably.

One of our primary objectives is land conservation initiatives aimed at reducing the number of buildable land parcels on the island through encouraging the combining of land parcels and through deeded conservation easements. This effort is geared towards protecting the island’s natural habitat from residential overdevelopment and ensuring a safe sanctuary for our native wildlife, flora and fauna. We support a balanced approach to development and conservation.

Further, we hold a special focus on safeguarding the island's indigenous wildlife and plant life. Our ambition is to ensure that the delicate balance between human activity and nature remains unimpaired, allowing future generations to marvel at North Captiva Island's astounding natural wealth.

The torch bearers of our mission are directors L.A. Brickner and Swin Swinford. Their relentless dedication, passion, and commitment drive us forward as we work diligently to accomplish our conservation objectives.
