Protecting North Captiva's Treasured Beachfront: Join Us in Our Conservation Effort!

Swin Swinford

Nestled on the serene shores of North Captiva Island is a precious slice of natural beauty on Pink Flamingo. Once a drivable road, Pink Flamingo erosion has transformed it into pristine beachfront property frequented by locals and visitors alike. Its soft sands, clear waters, and gentle breezes make it not just a recreational haven but also a testament to nature's ever-evolving landscapes. However, like many of nature's treasures, it stands vulnerable. Today, we at the North Captiva Conservation and Beautification Foundation (NCCBF) are reaching out with an appeal to protect this irreplaceable gem.

As the shifting sands around North Captiva Island continue to move, it's not beyond imagination that this Pink Flamingo property could once again become a tempting spot for construction. While it remains unbuildable for now, with accretion the future might tell a different story, threatening its public accessibility and delicate ecosystems. To prevent such an occurrence, NCCBF is committed to purchasing and preserving this 1.4 acre parcel, ensuring that it remains untouched by construction and forever open to the public.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are halfway towards our fundraising goal of the $30,000 used to make this land purchase. We have already secured $15,000 in committed donations, but we need your help to complete the funding. By contributing to our cause, you are playing a vital role in preserving a piece of North Captiva's heritage and ensuring that future generations can experience the untouched beauty of this beach parcel. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation towards our conservation efforts. Every dollar counts in making a lasting impact. Together, we can safeguard the timeless charm of this magnificent parcel and truly begin our journey of land conservation on North Captiva Island. Click Here To Donate.
